Who Am I
I’ve been a speech pathologist for 17 years! I graduated with a BA in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Utah and a MEd in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education from Utah State University. I also hold a current Certification of Clinical Competence for Speech Pathology through ASHA and a State of Utah Professional License.
As a young woman, I began working for a nonprofit daycare program. This program integrated children with disabilities with typically developing children. Every day, I would watch different therapies; speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy implement services for each child with disabilities. One day a child whose vocal cords had been damaged from chemotherapy, walked up to me and signed, “eat cookie.” I felt inspired. I wanted to help give people a voice, a way to communicate with the world, when they may not have one otherwise.
I love what I do and have experience working with children and adults on speech, language, cognition, communication, augmentative alternative communication, voice, swallowing and feeding skills. I would love the opportunity to work with you or your family on any speech/language needs you may have.
